AI Citation Readiness Checklist

Forty concrete checks for crawler access, llms.txt, structured data, answer-ready copy, evidence, and entity clarity. The full list is free on the page. The $39 audit scores one URL.

All 40 checks are on this page. There is no email gate and no download. Marking a box stores the mark in this browser only. Checking a box does not submit the page, and it does not produce a score.

The free check tests the public signals a crawler can see in seconds: homepage HTML, robots.txt for GPTBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended, a non-empty llms.txt, a sitemap, and JSON-LD types. It does not query ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI Overviews. Where a check is outside that tool, the item says so.

The $39 audit scores one public URL and returns about ten prioritized fixes. Use the list first. Pay for the score when you want the punch list for a specific page.

40 checks

Marks stay in this browser. Nothing is submitted, and a checked box is not a score.

Crawler access

These checks ask whether a crawler can fetch the page. An allow rule is access. It is not a citation.

llms.txt

llms.txt is a community proposal for a Markdown reading list, usually at /llms.txt. It is not an OpenAI standard, a Google ranking factor, or a Perplexity requirement.

Structured data

JSON-LD makes a fact easier to extract. It does not create a ranking, and it does not bring back a Google FAQ rich result.

Answer-ready content

Answer engines lift short passages. The passage has to be true, and it has to be on the page.

Evidence and sourcing

A model would rather quote a sourced fact than invent one. An unsourced superlative is not that fact.

Entity clarity

Models attach claims to names. One product, spelled one way, operated by a company a reader can identify.
